Local Harrow on the Hill resident Jake Thomson attempts to climb Kilimanjaro for charity. Jake says "So, it's 5,985 metres high, drops to -20Celcius overnight and 70% of people who climb it suffer from acute mountain sickness...what could possibly go wrong for an asthma sufferer who doesn't like getting out of bed in the morning?!"
We wish him good luck as he raises money for Comic Relief. "Jakes Journey" is entirely personally funded so every penny you donate will go directly to supporting Comic Relief with projects both here at home and across Africa. The climb will take 6 days, starting in a rainforest and ending with glacial conditions at the 18,000 feet peak.
